Just a small one my idea on the Eyes and Mind of God I look forward to someone correcting me, or pointing me in the right direction. I thing the eyes and mind of god only comes about when we understand Sanmitsu, and have carried it out, ( Sanmitsu The want and will, the goal, and understanding of said goal, and what is needed to obtain said goal, and the Deed or going ahead and Doing said Deed). The Eyes and Mind of God comes about when we are alone, when you understand yourself and you are the only one who know if you do live by your decisions, your Sanmitsu. The eyes to look at yourself from Ura and Omote (inner and outer), and the mind to know that you have lived by the truth you have set yourself. Karle ( the Deep )

But by this defenition surely all understanding can be described as a goal acheived through sanmitsu? Learning a technique is sanmitsu in itself. The thought of learning, the intention to learn and the act of learning. Am I getting the wrong end of the stick? I think I'd like a "Doc" approach to shin-shin shigan heart and mind of god is understanding you in yourself, much the way you say, access to the concept of divinity is through humanity, "god" only exist because of people believing in them/it/he/she (I'd love to do the whole O God of Hangovers bit here, to all you pratchett fans!) I think to have or understand the eyes and mind of god requires you to have the presence of mind to think like a god. I also feel that, like your ninpo post, it is personal. Sanmitsu describes a deed, yet people go about deeds differently. Similarly with Shin-shin shigan, there room for interpretation is up to the "eye of the beholder". I think I've proved nothing with this post why does seeing a line like "I look forward to someone correcting me, or pointing me in the right direction" make you want to post! Matt (the not-so-deep!)
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switerzland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock Orson Welles |
